Katie has been working with children as long as she can remember. Starting off her tertiary education with a Bachelor of Health Science (Naturopathy) before training to be an Early Childhood Teacher. Katie then spent 16 years working in the Early Learning and Care sector as a Teacher and Director. During that time she discovered a passion for supporting children’s sensory needs and has transitioned into the Occupational Therapy field by completing her Masters of Occupational Therapy at the University of Sydney.
Katie is a Wollongong local, born and raised in the Illawarra. She now lives with her husband and 2 girls and their many cats and dogs. Katie loves to get crafty and can often be found exploring her creativity with colour.
Katie loves to learn and has participated in a variety of professional learning on how to support the sensory and emotional needs of children through regulation approaches that get the body moving and building a sense of awareness of what is happening in the body in order for children to build their emotional knowledge.
